Turkey Visa & Entry Requirements for International Visitors
Turkey offers visa-free entry and an electronic visa (e-Visa) system, depending on the traveler’s nationality.
Visa-Free Entry
Citizens of many countries are allowed to enter Turkey without a visa for short stays related to tourism or business. Visa-free stays are typically up to 90 days within a 180-day period, though the exact duration depends on nationality.
Electronic Visa (e-Visa)
Travelers who are not eligible for visa-free entry may apply for a Turkey e-Visa online prior to travel. The e-Visa is generally issued for tourism or business purposes and allows stays of up to 30 or 90 days, depending on nationality.
Some nationalities may qualify for a conditional e-Visa if they hold a valid visa or residence permit from certain countries (such as Schengen, USA, UK, or Ireland).
Passport & Entry Requirements
All visitors must:
Hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry
* Have a return or onward ticket
* Comply with entry requirements set by Turkish border authorities
Travelers who are not eligible for visa-free entry or an e-Visa, or who plan to stay longer than the permitted period, must apply for an appropriate visa through a Turkish Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence.
